Is MSI is to do some UEFI tuning to help tighten up the performance issues we observed in graphics and Futuremark tests, it would easily take an editor's choice. But I think with all things considered, the ACE deserves the silver Recommended award.

Reviewing the MEG Z490 Ace was more challenging than your average motherboard. The funny business around the board’s firmware is definitely concerning, but these sort of issues typically get resolved in time with future BIOS updates.
To be honest, i would just disconnect it completely. This board has no need for a VRM fan. You need a VRM fan if you put a high-end CPU in a low-end mainboard model, because then the VRM will get hot.
